The RVA Moy Yat SSA branch school was founded in 1986 by Grandmaster Moy Tung, a close disciple of the late Grandmaster Moy Yat. From the start, his goal was to teach pure Ving Tsun from the heart, authentically passing down the complete Kung Fu system, the way he learned it from his Sifu, Moy Yat.

Instructors and Sifus under Moy Tung began teaching in the early 90’s. Today, the Moy Tung lineage alone has grown to well over two dozen branch schools around the US and Europe, with three generations of Kung Fu students teaching under him.

Every year, the Moy Tung clan and special guests gather to train and share Kung Fu, and to celebrate the growth and development of Moy Yat Kung Fu through the seed planted in Richmond, Va. That vital, essential and ancient Little Beginning Idea, that from New York and Hong Kong via Moy Yat and Yip Man, back to the 36th Chamber of Shaolin and the Venerable Five Kung Fu Grandmasters.
