Moy Tung Kung Fu is authentic Moy Yat Ving Tsun Kung Fu – the complete system, taught in the traditional manner

In the Moy Tung lineage of Moy Yat Ving Tsun Kung Fu, you know where your kung fu comes from. We train a complete system of kung fu, handed down through a known lineage of masters from its roots in the 17th Century Shaolin Temple. When you are in Grandmaster Moy Tung’s lineage of students, you have a connection to the source of the kung fu, Ving Tsun. You are also in the lineage of his teacher, Grandmaster Moy Yat, and his sifu, Grandmaster Yip Man. These are the venerable masters that brought Ving Tsun into the modern world (Yip Man in 1950’s Hong Kong) and to the United States (Moy Yat in 1973).Grandmaster Anthony Moy Tung Dandridge with his sifu, Grandmaster Moy Yat Moy Yat with disciple Anthony Moy Tung Dandridge, formal. He started training in 1980, joined Moy Yat's Special Student Association in 1984 and began a two year live-in training program with him. He opened his first Ving Tsun Kung Fu school in Richmond, VA in 1986. In addition to teaching afternoon and evening classes six days per week, Moy Tung maintained a regular schedule of training visits to New York, often taking students with him. He also brought Grandmaster Moy Yat to Richmond 1-2 times per year for seminars. Moy Tung has consistently worked very hard to learn, train, teach and preserve Ving Tsun Kung Fu the right way. The evidence that he is succeeding can be felt in the hands of his students, grandstudents, great-grandstudents and great-great-grandstudents.In Ving Tsun Kung Fu, the system is a teacher; we follow the system in our training, and it helps us refine our technique and understanding. However, serious students of kung fu will do well to learn how to train in the Ving Tsun Kung Fu system under a qualified sifu, to be confident the complete system is being learned, correctly. Key details of Ving Tsun theory and the proper form for training techniques are taught and preserved in the Moy Tung lineage, along with numerous practical applications. For maximum effectiveness, Ving Tsun techniques must be trained in this way. The system has evolved and been refined through the centuries, but the principles for training and fighting have remained unchanged. The test of that is the reasonableness of the theory and details that are taught, and the power of the kung fu that is developed and proved in your own practice.Aspiring Moy Tung Kung Fu students can learn Ving Tsun the right way by beginning training at any one of 20 authorized locations in 14 cities around the United States. Grandmaster Moy Tung regularly visits the branch schools that have opened under him to hold workshops and train the sifus. Qualified students from any generation under him also have the opportunity to visit him in Richmond and to learn directly from him.
